Dave, I’d like to know if there’s a program available that will let me create a document on the computer and save it to a DVD-ROM disk so that it’s playable on a DVD machine? I created a Powerpoint document and saved it on a DVD, but it won’t play on my DVD machine, the unit only plays the music. Thank you.
After casting a rather wide net for this particular question, I found a couple of programs that looked interesting and claimed to do what you’re asking.
PowerPoint DVD Burner
Description: PowerPoint DVD Burner is a very simple yet practical tool to turn your Powerpoint files to DVDs or miniDVDs (MiniDVD is a regular CD that has DVD files in it. You can burn a miniDVD just with a regular CD and a common CD burner) and view them on your TV, complete with background image or color, background music, and selection menu. With this program, you don’t have to have a computer to do your presentations with your Powerpoint files. Just a TV and a DVD player will do the job perfectly.

Wondershare PPT2DVD
Description: Wondershare PPT2DVD (formerly as PowerPoint2DVD) enables you to burn PowerPoint presentations to DVD/MiniDVD with flexible DVD Menus and view them on TV, complete with the original PowerPoint elements such as animations, transitions, inner hyperlinks, sound and movie clips. It also enables you to control the playback such as “Next slide, Previous slide” with a DVD remote control. With PPT2DVD, you can even convert PowerPoint slide shows to MPEG/WMV/AVI videos and put them on YouTube or web pages within the social networking for online sharing.

If you enter some simple keywords into your favorite search engine you’ll find these two programs and many more to choose from. For instance, I used: powerpoint to dvd, powerpoint dvd, power point to dvd, convert powerpoint to dvd, powerpoint to dvd software, powerpoint to vid
You can also check out the site PowerPoint to DVD or visit Burnworld to find more solutions, and a host of other information on burning DVD’s.

If you are using Windows 7 and PowerPoint 2010, you can do it all without getting any additional software.
1: Export your PowerPoint to video.

2: Use Windows DVD Maker to burn the video to disc.

I’d like to share anther cost-effective PowerPoint to DVD converter software which can help you easily create rich, vivid, dynamic slide presentations and automatically burn presentations to DVD disc with excellent quality and fast conversion speed, the use period of the trial version can be up to 30 days. But I found that it really works well.

I’d like to know how to make a DVD that will play my PowerPoint slide show (167 jpg inserted into PP on MAC X and saved as .pps) with the music I recorded using MAGIX. MAGIX allows the file to be saved as .mp3 or .wav format. I have 2 files and would like the music to play while the slides are running. Do any of you know what I can/should do? Thanks for your help.
I looked at your suggestion for using VideoConverter but when loading it discovered I had to install the Babylon tool bar at the same time. I have been told this is malware or something else nasty. Can you Corroborate this or tell me if it is not a problem.
Thanks
I working on a ppt that I will convert to dvd using Wondershare. I am wondering what type of page set-up I need to use in ppt in order for it to fit on a 50″ flatscreen when I burn it to a dvd.
I have tried different aspect ratios, but they all seem to stretch it out on the tv. Is there a custom size I should use to set up the slides in ppt?
Thanks!
I created a DVD from a PowerPoint file using the free trial versions of both the Wonderware PPT2DVD and the AVS Video Converter. Both resulted in very grainy pictures. Is this because I used the free trial version or can I expect the same quality when I purchase either product? Are there other converter programs available that produce better quality DVDs?
